Holy smokes, it’s been way to long since Dana or I have posted, but we have been busy, busy. Expect updates in the coming weeks on the fantabulous purple Custom Suite that Dana designed for a lovely NJ couple’s wedding, as well as a vintage map for a San Francisco bagel startup, more cards for the shop and ongoing additions to our stationery repertoire! I also must share this amazing shout-out by Kristen of Paper Crave and Invitation Crush who featured Rocky’s and my Save The Dates on her blog and also included no less than SIX of our designs in her Wedding Invitation Ideas lookbook! For an infant business like ours, her validation and promotion is truly priceless and very much appreciated. More on Kristen’s lookbook in the coming days!
In the meantime, I had to share this wedding ring I might have fallen in love with:
I had been looking at lots of rose-cut raw diamond rings, but then I had a dream that I was wearing a golden “möbius” around my ring finger. Yes, a dream, I know… so California! And along those same lines, I have a whole theory as to why this ring makes sense to represent my relationship with Rocky in this totally abstract way. Seriously though, what do you think, would this make a rad wedding band or should we spring for the bling?
On a personal note, my partner of nine years and I got engaged last week! I see a lot of storybook “engagement stories” in the blogosphere, but there’s no epic fairy tale here. Not the moment of betrothal itself, anyway. Just a regular Thursday morning, getting ready for work. We rush past one another a handful of times, in and out of the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen between showers, dog and dress. I knew I was running about 5.5 minutes late that day, which is why I got a little flustered when I dropped and lost a bobby pin. Rocky was there all of a sudden saying, “here I have it” and when I reached out my hand, he dropped a ring in it! The subsequent proposal and my eloquent reply, “are you serious?!” followed suit.
Rocky and I are planning a wedding celebration in Calistoga this fall, the details (and invitations!) for which I will be sure to keep you posted on. In the meantime, we are over the moon!
