Today’s the big day for Laura and Greg, custom clients from San Francisco who hired us to create their Guerneville Wedding Suite. Their wedding sounds like a gorgeous, chillaxing affair with a romantic ceremony under the redwood trees in Guerneville, Calforinia – just off the Russian River. We had a lot of fun designing a tree-themed suite that combined a campy feel with a tone of formality. We utilized natural materials including real tree branch buttons, hand-dyed hemp and bark-embossed recycled paper for their Weekend Event Maplet.

Congratulations Laura and Greg – may your happiness last longer than the redwoods are tall!

A while ago I posted about Michele & James and their Daring inspiration board, as well as the invitation designs we came up with for them to choose from. Now I'm thrilled to finally present the completed design!

Full invitation in black, purple and silverMichele and James wanted a sleek and modern design that was different from everything they'd been seeing.

Detail of invitationThe invitation itself was screen printed with metallic silver ink on heavy black board. We also included an inner purple envelope for a burst of color that also acts as an enclosure for all the other elements.

Outer envelope

We chose a black outer envelope for the invite so that it stood out against all the other mail guests received along with it. Each envelope was addressed with silver labels, and we created a custom return address stamp that was used on both the reverse side of the outter envelope as well as the RSVP envelope, stamped in silver ink.

RSVP card & envelopeSilver shimmery paper that matched the silver labels on the outter envelope was flat printed with black ink for the RSVP card.

Details cardMichele & James also really loved the idea of a monogram, but were happy to use it as a secondary element, so we incorporated it here, on the insert card along with the invitation to the day-after brunch.

The reverse side of the insert card was used for all the other details the couple wanted to share with their guests.

Tomorrow, stay tuned for photos from both their engagement session and their wedding!

Remember Rocky’s and my Wine-Stained Cork Save The Dates? Well they have been quite a hit and we often receive requests from people planning events to customize them. The first client to do this was a lovely gal named Lisa who threw her sister, Nancy a 30th birthday party at a winery! (Awesome sister, right?)

Nancy’s favorite color is purple, so we used a lavendar envelope and backed the cork invite itself with a bright plum colored cardstock. We also added a “tag” pointing out the time of the “first flight.” We were hoping this would get guests extra excited! It was also something they could detach and take with them without having the carry the whole invitation around.

Below are some photos from this fabulous party!
