We’re just loving all the Art Deco design and event inspiration we’re seeing on the blogs and Pinterest lately. Is it trickling down from The Great Gatsby film this past summer, or is it just a timely trend? In any case, we wanted in so when we were asked to participate in a Jazz-Age styled shoot last summer, we jumped at the chance to develop our own version of an Art Deco Invitation Suite.

We wanted to capture some of the flare from that era while still giving the suite a current twist, so we used modern, geometric shapes set against Parisian-style type and a sans serif secondary font. We screen printed the suite with metallic yellow gold, matte white and black ink on licorice black and fluorescent white cardstock.

We also developed some fresh Day Of elements including die-cut Escort Cards in shades of purple, meant to hang from a ribbon wall to emulate the “chandelier” effect on the Invitation and Reply Card. We completed the dazzle with a gold glitter Envelope Liner and backer to the hexagon-shaped Dinner Menu.
