Kate and George were married on a warm spring day at the Red Barn in South Berwick, Maine. Lovers of nature and literature, their custom suite featured a typewriter-inspired text treatment and wildflower silhouettes in a palette of chocolate, sage and bright pinks and oranges. The graphics were letterpressed onto cotton paper and additional elements were enclosed in a handmade pocketfolder. The hot pink envelope liners and information packets were gel-embossed with a pattern made from the flowers.
United in an outdoor ceremony on the lawn of the Red Barn, Kate and George had friends read poetry and after their vows, took part in a Celtic handfasting ritual with white satin ribbon. The gorgeous flowers saturated the evening which glowed with the warmth of a huge family celebrating the culmination of a 10-year relationship. Guests were given boxes of fresh petals to toss during the recessional.
The reception was held inside the barn beneath soaring wood beams. Table numbers were backed with literary excerpts about love by their favorite authors from Jane Austen to Roald Dahl.
Though this write up is long overdue, I haven't forgotten the joy of that lovely day. Congrats again, K&G! And thanks for the opportunity to bring your wedding to life on paper!
