Ashley & Jefferson’s Vineyard Nuptials

It’s no secret that around here we love a vineyard wedding, which is why we were so thrilled when one of our newlywed clients, Ashley and Jefferson shared their photos with us. We adapted our Cork Save the Date into an invitation (complete with coordinating Reply Card) for their wine-drenched event, which was held at Still Waters Vineyards in Paso Robles, California. Everything came together with perfect rustic elegance. Scroll down to see all the gorgeous details in juicy shades of cabernet, syrah, merlot… (is it Friday yet?)

Congratulations Ashley and Jefferson! Best wishes for your life together.

Michelle & Jonathan’s Shades of Navy, Gold and Grey

Recent bride and amazing client Michelle emailed us over the weekend to share a sneak peek of her wedding photos from her photographer’s blog. Michelle married her fiancé, Jonathan in St. Helena, CA and had the reception at Hans Fahden in Calistoga this June, which is the same venue that Rocky and I got married at last October. She asked us to reonceive our Wine Harvest Wedding stationery in her color palette – Navy Blue, Bright Gold, Grey, Cream and Blush. We adapted the design to an A7 size and printed the wrap-around watercolored map on cream linen textured paper. Aside from the pearlescent gold wax seal, the pièce de résistance was the invitation itself, where we screenprinted the script onto Navy cardstock with glittering metallic Gold ink. Michelle went on to ask us to create all of her Day-Of colalteral as well, which included Menus, Escort Cards, Programs, a Wine Barrel Guest Book and Welcome Agenda and really brought everything together at the event!

Check out the photos below by talented wedding photographer, Mariella Hayes.

CONGRATULATIONS, Michelle and Jonathan! We wish you an eternity of happiness together.

From Samantha to Silvia

Have you seen our Silvia wedding invitation design? It’s part of our pre-designed Wedding Collection, in which all the suites can be tailored to your event: color palette, wording, materials and technique-wise. I have long been meaning to share the wedding that inspired this design, which took place last September and celebrated the union of Samantha + Ryan.

Samantha contacted us last spring with a request to develop a custom suite for her rustic chic wedding in rural Illinois. The wedding was taking place at a small vineyard (our apparent specialty) in a red barn and the couple were using weathered barn wood as a key feature in their decor. Their color palette was eggplant and green apple.

After some initial design drafts and feedback from Samantha, the final result was what later became our Silvia suite. It was important for the couple to have their three daughters names on the suite, so we included them as small “hearts within the heart” on the invite itself. We also had a die-cut heart shape inviting a select number of recipients to the private ceremony itself, which was held to the invite with twine in keeping with the rustic feel. For an RSVP reply card, we created a postcard on French Paper’s PopTone Green Apple card stock (same as the die-cut heart). Everything was flat printed and mailed in deep eggplant envelopes, on which a distressed rubber stamp reply address was pressed in off-white ink.

These are some photos of the happy family on their wedding day. You can see how their colors and theme tied everything together, down to the sashes on their sweet girls’ dresses.

Thank you so much, Sam – you were a pleasure to work with! Congratulations to your whole fam. And special thanks to Photos by Lydia, who took all the photographs of the wedding shown here.

Our Wedding Suite (Part 2)

Escort Cards on grand piano with floral arrangement by Brown Paper Design. Photo by Brown Butter Photography. As a follow up to yesterday’s post, Our Wedding Suite (Part 1), today I am sharing some of the extended pieces in our stationery suite, also known as the “Day Of” collateral. Again, Rocky and I wanted to extend the tone of our wedding while tying in some personal interests. We are total foodies (Rocky was a professional chef when we started dating) and our love for good wine and local, seasonal food played a big part in our event. Add to that the fact that Rocky is super into music and me into art and design (obvs) and we had a bevy of inspirational sources for all stages of planning. Below are some of the pieces we designed and created to aid and gift to our guests on the big day:

Tiny Program Booklets: 3x3" 8-page booklet flat printed on 24# Crane Crest 100% cotton paper, covered with Fig cardstock and saddle stitched with green staples. Booklet was held closed with antique ribbon and embellished with our signature wax seal.My favorite piece – which was actually a bit of an afterthought at the time – was our program. I noticed at weddings that programs are usually too large to fit in my often small purse or clutch, and it’s kind of a bummer to fold them up or leave them behind. So it was important to make it a bit of a keepsake, and we also wanted to reintegrate the wax seal from our invitations since, well, we had it made and outside of the wedding we were’t going to have any use for it! In the end I made 3" bound booklets which were tied shut with more of the antique ribbon I scored at the Alameda Flea. Within the booklet was a brief program of the ceremony, short bios of our family members (other than our “best dog” we didn’t have a wedding party), a thank you letter to our guests and friends who helped out, and one of the poems read at the ceremony. I think the end result was concise and precious enough for people to want to keep (hopefully!)

Last page of program featuring a Rilke poem that we so love.
