CONGRATS to Laura + Greg!

Today’s the big day for Laura and Greg, custom clients from San Francisco who hired us to create their Rustic Redwood Wedding Stationery. Their wedding sounds like a gorgeous, chillaxing affair with a romantic ceremony under the redwood trees in Guerneville, Calforinia – just off the Russian River. We had a lot of fun designing a tree-themed suite that combined a campy feel with a tone of formality. We utilized natural materials including real tree branch buttons, hand-dyed hemp and bark-embossed recycled paper for their Weekend Event Maplet. You can see more photos of their suite in our Custom gallery or on Facebook.

Congratulations Laura and Greg – may your happiness last longer than the redwoods are tall!

Late Summer Harvest Soirée Invitations

Just a few words and some eye candy to share with you this happy Friday as we unveil one of our recent Custom wedding invitation suites. Mel & Matt are two Brooklyn–>San Francisco foodies who also love music, the great outdoors and having an epic time with all their friends. We hand sketeched the “produce tree” and then filled in the lines with a watercolor effect. The typography features a contemporary calligraphy font set with a clean sans serif. Everything was flat printed on 100% cotton Crane Lettra and recycled Arturot and Dutch Felt papers. The images capture highlights from their upcoming wedding weekend events, including a ceremony in the Shakespeare Garden, reception at the Landmarks Art & Garden Center and a food truck welcome party in Golden Gate Park!

In the coming months I hope to share photos from the event, as well as some Day-Of collateral, but for now, enjoy perusing their invites.

You can see more photos of this and other work in our Custom portfolio.

Color Me Cuteness

I supposed I still have felt on the brain this week because today's color palette is inspired by these adorable felt baby shoes. With so many friends starting to have babies, I certainly have these (as well as many other items in the La La Shoes shop) in mind as future gifts.

From Samantha to Silvia

Have you seen our Silvia wedding invitation design? It’s part of our pre-designed Wedding Collection, in which all the suites can be tailored to your event: color palette, wording, materials and technique-wise. I have long been meaning to share the wedding that inspired this design, which took place last September and celebrated the union of Samantha + Ryan.

Samantha contacted us last spring with a request to develop a custom suite for her rustic chic wedding in rural Illinois. The wedding was taking place at a small vineyard (our apparent specialty) in a red barn and the couple were using weathered barn wood as a key feature in their decor. Their color palette was eggplant and green apple.

After some initial design drafts and feedback from Samantha, the final result was what later became our Silvia suite. It was important for the couple to have their three daughters names on the suite, so we included them as small “hearts within the heart” on the invite itself. We also had a die-cut heart shape inviting a select number of recipients to the private ceremony itself, which was held to the invite with twine in keeping with the rustic feel. For an RSVP reply card, we created a postcard on French Paper’s PopTone Green Apple card stock (same as the die-cut heart). Everything was flat printed and mailed in deep eggplant envelopes, on which a distressed rubber stamp reply address was pressed in off-white ink.

These are some photos of the happy family on their wedding day. You can see how their colors and theme tied everything together, down to the sashes on their sweet girls’ dresses.

Thank you so much, Sam – you were a pleasure to work with! Congratulations to your whole fam. And special thanks to Photos by Lydia, who took all the photographs of the wedding shown here.

Color Me Darling

Happy Friday everyone! I've had an aquamint and tangerine color palette on the brain for a few weeks, so when I spotted this necklace on Etsy, I immediately fell in love.
